Python One: A Versatile, Portable Console for Video and Film Production

As a free lance audio engineer for video tape and film production, I found that commercially available small mixing consoles incorporated few of the options so often needed for stage and location production, since they are geared primarily for the music industry. Hence, I designed a console with many of the necessary features, working closely with a manufacturer (Acoustilog, Inc., New York), utilizing much of their existing circuitry. Rather than dealing with the theory of circuit design, this paper is a description of the mixer from an operational standpoint discussing the decisions which led to its functional design.
