Today's sound studios are constructed and equipped to provide a wealth of manipulative freedoms undreamed of by the pioneers of recording and broadcasting. As techniques and technology continue to develop at unrelenting speed, engineers and producers have a responsibility to define their artistic objectives. Only then will the huge capital expenditure in acoustic design and electronic control of frequency, dynamic, time, and spatial effects be reflected in better sounds reaching the listener.
