Acoustic Feedback-Its Influence on Speech Intelligibility

Document Thumbnail

Available acoustic gain in speech reinforcement systems will often be limited by acoustic feedback. The changes in intelligibility caused by ringing effects in systems working near the point of instability are used as a basis for determining the optimum gain. The results show no significant influence of acoustic feedback in the domain from 1.5 dB below instability to no feedback.
