Loudspeaker Sound, Its Propagation and Modification by Control Room Acoustics

Document Thumbnail

Control rooms are designed for monitoring the quality of sound recordings and meet several requirements. The sound field produced by two monitor loudspeakers at the listening position has been investigated in three control rooms. Conclusions regarding the level variation, the reverberation time, and the influence of sound reflections will be demonstrated. The three control rooms belong to the orchestral studio, the dance music studio and the drama complex of Hessen Broadcasting so that judgments of the quality of music and speech recordings can be included.
