On the Developments of Isolated Loop Tape Transport Mechanism and Its Application

Isolated loop tape transport mechanism having two pressure rollers and Quartz locked direct drive single capstan system is very effective to reduce the flutter component of tape speed, and moduration noise. We have succeeded in obtaining tape speed stability with less than +/-0.1% and tape speed accuracy with less than 0.05%. This new mechanism can be applied to various types of tape recorders and now, one of its applications is described below.
