Partial Deafness and Distortion Perception

The human ear remains a remarkably viable sensor even when afflicted by partial deafness. From audiological tests and surveys (and also from the author`s personal experiences), it is concluded that persons suffering partial nerve deafness manifest a sensitivity to harmonic distortion that exceeds the norm. This may be partially attributable to the fact that clearer reproduction of audio material is necessary for intelligibility.
