Reduction of Noise Level of Super 8 Optical Sound Tracks Employing the Dolby System

Document Thumbnail

Using the Dolby-system during recording and replay of S 8 optical sound tracks a noise of approximately 10dB is achieved. The frequency spectrum of the film noise makes especially the Dolby-B-system suitable, particularly as it allows the use of relative cheap integrated circuits on the replay side. This lecture will end with the showing demonstration of some characteristical super 8 films.
