A Method of Analyzing the Quadraphonic Sound Field

Document Thumbnail

A method of analyzing the quadraphonic sound field is developed. In this method, the relation between the phase differences and the amplitude ratios at the ears due to a real sound source and a phantom sound source made by loudspeakers is analyzed. This method is useful for analyzing the quadraphonic sound field reproducing systems, and furthermore, is applied to obtain 'natural' sound localization in any direction.
