Development of a Loudspeaker System with Omnidirectional High Polymer Tweeters

The design and performance of a unique five-way loudspeaker system with omni-directional piezoelectric high polymer tweeter is presented. The tweeters have good transient response and good linearity, because the high polymer film is very lightweight and the film itself is the transducing element. The system has a wide frequency range (40 Hz to 20 kHz), smooth frequency response, and high power handling capability (200 W).
