Localization of Lateral Phantom-Sources
Localization and localization uncertainty of phantom sources generated by two loudspeakers located lateral and unsymmetrical with respect to the observer were investigated; parameter: level differences, loudspeaker lateral displacement and angular aperture. Based on these results, an arrangement with 6 loudspeakers at +30o, +90o, and +120o ref. 0o front in order to achieve an omnidirectional sound stage suitable for a normal discrete quadraphonic system was tested.
