A Dynamic Noise Filter

Document Thumbnail

A new implementation of the voltage-variable filter principle utilizes integrators and two-quadrant transconductance multipliers to reduce noise from records, tapes, and musical instruments. The filter, whose bandwidth is automatically controlled, restricts the bandwidth only during the absence of significant low- or high-frequency signal content. Included in the system are sharp notch filters to eliminate hum and a variable threshold slew rate limiter to attenuate clicks and pops.
