Technical Requirements and Analysis of Phono Cartridges for Proper Playback of CD4 Discrete Four-Channel Records

Frequency response, separation, and phase characteristics as well as feasibility of elliptical and spherical styli are discussed. The Shibata stylus has given excellent results. Other styli as well as currently available stereo cartridges are analyzed.
