Comparison of Measured and Simulated Room Impulse Response for an Interactive Music Making Environment in Mixed Reality

Document Thumbnail

This project is a music-making environment created for mixed reality (MR) with the goal of blending virtual sound components seamlessly with the surrounding space using 3D audio and acoustic techniques. The resulting experience allows a participant to play and mix music by interacting with the virtual objects superimposed onto the environment around the user using the Meta 2 AR headset. In addition, the experience is utilized to compare three different acoustic simulation techniques, including one based on Image-Source Method, with objective and subjective testing.
