Innocent Murmurs in Children

Innocent murmurs are heard in two locations. The carotid bruit and the venous hum are heard in the neck. The musical, or vibratory, murmur and the pulmonary outflow murmur are heard over the precordium. These are the common innocent murmurs of children.
