Attempts for Better Understanding of the Directional Stereophonic Listening Mechanism

A mathematical synthesis of physical factors concurring to recreate sound source direction in 2-channel stereophonic systems is elaborated by derivation of general equations. Obtained results show good agreement with works of other authors but also raise new concepts, in particular about the influence of interchannel time difference.
