Polyester and Acetate as Magnetic Tape Backings

In the past two years the industry as seen a definite trend toward the use of polyester as a magnetic recording tape substrate. The results of comparative testing of both cellulose acetate and polyester materials point up some interesting differences. Conclusions are presented which identify advantages to the user.
