This paper describes an electronic device which monitors the R-Wave portion of the ECG signal of the heart and provides an audible and/or visible indication of the rhythm and rate of the heart. The R-Wave Monitor obtains its input signal from the recorder output jack of an electrocardioscope and appropriates its energy from the DC level appearing at the recorder output jack.
