Design Considerations for a Speakerphone Development
The primary purpose of this development was to reduce the cost of the control unit used in the speakerphone system we presently manufacture. The control unit was chosen because it was the most expensive part of the system and if the price target could be met with this unit alone and the new unit was completely interchangeable with its predecessor both electrically and physically, then manufacturing could change over abruptly without concern for replacement and maintenance to systems presently in use. A secondary benefit to this type of program is the development of ideas and circuits to be evaluated for the long range program. The new system must have all the desirable features of our current system and any improvements that the state of the art can provide.
