A New Low-latency, Discrete Multichannel Virtualization Technique

Document Thumbnail

Typical multichannel virtualization techniques that attempt to create an enveloping audio effect also result in imprecise source localization and an unnatural coloration of the sound. A processing system is presented that addresses these issues using a combination of head-related transfer functions, crosstalk cancellation, and equalization. An efficient time domain processing engine is employed to reduce processing latency.
