The Atlantic Audio Demonstration Equipment

Document Thumbnail

The Advanced Communications Technologies and Services (ACTS) Atlantic project has developed demonstration equipment that addresses the problems caused by cascaded bit-rate reduction. The first area of application is a continuity or presentation suite involving MPEG 1 Layer II decoders and encoders using the audio mole to provide very nearly transparent cascading. The second is a postproduction system using central servers and common object request broker architecture (CORBA) for network control.
