A Digital Interface for the Interconnection of Professional Digital Audio Equipment

A serial interface for the interconnection of digital audio equipment is presented. It accommodates one, two, or four channels of digitized audio, as well as (if required) error protection, additional digital audio channels, and user-defined information. It also meets the transmission requirements of practical applications, while requiring simple circuitry.
