The publication of independent evaluative reports on audio products relies heavily upon a battery of objective tests, done on perhaps dozens of models. Reliable, repeatable measurements and accurate documentation of results are crucial. The unique system described satisfies these needs through a software-driven Automated Test Equipment (ATE) approach, freeing the operator of all test-time decision-making, and allowing the data from extensive AF and RF testing to be analyzed at a future time via a transportable database. The use of ATE is able to cut the time needed to run a group of audio tests by 80% or more.
