Acoustic Normal Mode Analysis for Coupled Rooms

Document Thumbnail

Finite element method (FEM) is used to study the normal modes distribution in coupled rooms. The effect of the joint area and the position of the opening on the normal modes are also discussed. It was shown that for two rooms coupled each other through an opening, the normal mode of the overall enclosure has been selectively modified.
