Linear Microelectronics in the Implementation of Audio Control Functions

The critical audio performance parameters of linear monolithic integrated circuits are reviewed in terms of the limitations inherent in the planar epitaxial process, and a control amplifier is presented as an acceptable compromise. A number of examples are presented as typical functional audio implementations such as amplifier stages, feedback-type tone controls and output buffers.
