A New Concert Violin
A concert violin is described which is more powerful than the standard -full size- 14 in. one but retains the tone quality representative of the classical violin. Careful design and scaling make it possible to keep string lengths in the new 15 in. model similar to those of the Stradivarius model violin while enlarging the vibrating areas of the plates. The loudness curves of the new instrument are compared with that of a 14 in. model by the same maker and that of the Stradivarius violin.
