Sensitivity of Phonograph Turntables to Normal Loads

Document Thumbnail

The paper discusses the extreme sensitivity to load of present phonograph turntables. Because of this sensitivity to normal loads, frequency modulation transients of short duration occur. If these are present in excess of one part in ten thousand, serious distortion of the music can be heard.
