Mixing within a 5.1 Surround Sound Field to Enhance an Acoustic Recording and to Enhance the Simulation of Acoustic Instruments using a MIDI Sound Source

The essence of this presentation is to play an interactive DVD-Audio disk containing two audio recordings, one pure acoustic and one acoustic simulation using a MIDI sound source. The first recording is a live performance from a traditional Scottish vocalist/guitarist; the second is an original composition by the presenter. During the presentation/demonstration, the presenter will cover all aspects involved in creating the DVD product from audio recording to mastering. Because Steinberg's Nuendo software was used for all 5.1 Surround Sound mixes, the presenter will illustrate using Nuendo various methods developed in producing the two music works.
