In 2004, Ville Pulkki was presented with the AES Publications Award for his paper "Localization of Amplitude-Panned Virtual Sources II: Two- and Three-Dimensional Panning," volume 49, number 9 (2001 September).
In 2010, Ville Pulkki was presented with the AES Fellowship Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the reproduction, perception, and modeling of spatial sound.
In 2012, Ville Pulkki was presented with the AES Board of Governors Award in recognition of chairing the 45th AES International Conference on Application of Time-Frequency Processing in Audio in Helsinki, Finland, in March 2012.
