STEVE TURNIDGE is a long time AES member of the Pacific Northwest section. He has served as committee member, Vice Chair and Chair of his section over the past dozen years, currently holding the Vice Chair position.
He is a noted mastering engineer at UltraViolet Studios, with hundreds of albums and thousands of songs mastered since 1997. He has written two books on mastering for Hal Leonard Books (Desktop Mastering and Beyond Mastering).
Steve taught a year of Audio Recording at Shoreline Community College, and is currently Chair of the Music/Tech Advisory Committee there. In addition to guest lectures at local colleges, he is on staff as an instructor at Robert Lang Academy.
Steve also has several decades of pro audio circuit board and product design experience, starting at Rane Corporation in 1986, and most recently creating modular synth (for Synthwerks) and guitar pedal designs (for Pigtronix and Xvive). In addition to being an owner of Synthwerks, Steve founded the Mostly Modular Trade Association (http://www.mostlymodular.com/)
He was recently a two term Governor of The Producers and Engineers Wing of The Recording Academy, and founded the seminal Northwest CyberArtists group in Seattle in the early 1990s. Steve is also a partner in Burning Sky Records and a passionate artist and musician.
