TT2 - Kaufman Astoria Music & Sound/The Museum of The Moving Image

Abstract:
Kaufman Astoria Music and Sound is a major New York City "Large Room" recording studio located in the famed Kaufman Astoria Film Studios. While catering to music for film/tv, Broadway cast albums, jazz, rock, and more, KAS offers full ADR, voice over, and lock to picture services as well as fiber optic connectivity to two of the building's large sound stages. Originally built by Famous Players-Lasky, known as Paramount Pictures after 1927, as their East Coast production facility in 1920, these studio's were the site of hundreds of silent and early sound era film productions.

The Museum of the Moving Image advances the public understanding and appreciation of the art, history, technique, and technology of film, television, and digital media. Since its opening in 1988, Museum of the Moving Image has been recognized as a major, internationally-reputed institution and the only museum in the United States dedicated to exploring the art, history, and technology of the moving image.

This tour is limited to 20 people.

Price: $35 (members), $45 (nonmembers)
