Last Updated: 20060421, saj Sunday, May 21, 21:30 — 23:30DINNER/CRUISE The 120th AES Dinner Party goes on a cruise. Combine the pleasure of a Gourmet Dinner with a cruise on the River Seine in a relaxing and convivial atmosphere ! The waters of the River Seine have always been the heart and soul of Paris. The Seine is crossed by many beautiful bridges. The oldest one, the Pont-Neuf near the Notre-Dame Cathedral, was inaugurated in 1607, and the exuberant Alexandre III bridge near the Invalides, was built for the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. The gourmet menu features a five-appetizer course, with turban of plaice and smoked salmon and fresh spinach, goat cheese with flaky pastry topped with sesame seeds, vol-auvent filled with peppered duck foie gras, Oriental salad, and aubergine caviar. The main course offers a choice of two dishes: braised veal with mushroom sauce and braised risotto, or sea bream coated with layers of scallops and courgettes. A vegetarian main course can be arranged on request. The dessert is composed of a mini warm apple pie, fresh shortbread biscuit with pear and chocolate, and delicious Catalan cream with orange-flower water flavoring. The menu includes aperitif, wine, water and coffee. Price per person : 70 € (AES Members) 75 € (Non-Members) Bus transportation to the "île aux Cygnes" and back to Paris Expo is included in the price. The boat leaves at 21:30 and returns at 23:30. “The Capitaine Fracasse,” named upon Theophile Gauthier's 1863 novel, is a cruise boat with traditional wooden interiors, catering for 250 seats. Seating can offer small tables for 3, 4 or 6 guests, or tables for 10. Due to seat capacity, early bookings are strongly recommended. Interested in booking a company table?
