AVATAR STUDIOS

Avatar was founded in 1996 in NY’s fabled Hell’s Kitchen. One of largest and most successful studios, this 33,000-sq. ft. colossus, formerly the fabled “Power Station,” has hosted Gold and Platinum sessions for such celebrated stars as Springsteen, Clapton, Norah Jones, John Mayer, and Franz Ferdinand. Renowned for exemplary maintenance, a world-class collection of vintage and state-of-the-art gear, Avatar’s unique acoustics have made it a favorite of such leading producers as Arif Mardin, Puffy Combes, Phil Ramone, and Jack Joseph Puig and Platinum engineers like Al Schmitt, Elliot Scheiner, and Eddie Kramer.

Price: $25 members; $35 nonmembers

Technical Tours are made available on a first come, first served basis. Tickets can be purchased during normal registration hours at the convention center.
