A Computer System for Investigating and Building Synthetic Auditory Spaces-Part I

Document Thumbnail

Based in part on work stemming from the Timbral Ear Trainer project, an approach for the investigation of auditory spaces is described in which complex sound "scenes" are built by assembling components of a synthetic auditory space around a sound source and a listener. This paper describes the concept and the basic structure of this 8- to 12-channel system.
