Timing in Digital Audio Systems: The Importance of AES11

AES11 defines a number of timing parameters necessary for a complex digital audio system. The author, a member of the AES11 standards group, draws on his experience with several large systems, for which his company has designed equipment, to describe various problems, especially where audio is locked to video or where broadcast automation is used.
