Surround Mixing Technique on Dolby and 3-1 Discrete Quadraphonic Surround Sound for Live Broadcasting
NHK (Japan Broadcast Corporation) has been broadcasting live from NHK HALL a weekly pop-music program named Kayo-concert. This concert is a live show for television. The program has been mixed simultaneously as Dolby-Surround for NTSC TV and 3-1 discrete quadraphonic surround for high-definition TV. This paper describes the outline of surround mixing a live broadcast from NHK HALL.
