Recent advantages in technology made it possible to improve the group delay characteristics of loudspeakers. Analog implementation is limited by S/N considerations with low crossover frequencies. The paper discusses the improvements which can be achieved by digital signal processing and compares solutions with IIR and FIR filter algorithms.
