Running an integrated mechanical and acoustical Finite-Element (FE) program on a PC platform, the modeling of a ribbon loudspeaker can be studied in terms of both vibrational parameters and the corresponding radiated acoustic field. Consequently a more accurate description of the mechanical and acoustical behaviour can be determined. Details of the FE technique and methods of analysing the output data are presented.
