Stereo Audio for Television: Practical Problems in Audio Post-Production Techniques

Document Thumbnail

The advent of stereo television has created specific demands to the audio postproduction facility. This paper presents the practical applications of a dubbing studio dedicated exclusively to mixing stereo audio programs for television. Time code synchronization versus sprocket synchronization in overall stereo audio postproduction techniques will be compared. Modified recording, transferring, and mixing practices will be suggested after an analysis of the problems encountered in the postproduction process of several stereo television productions.
