Measurements of Auditorium Acoustics with a Storage Oscilloscope and Tone Burst Generator

Document Thumbnail

The effect of variations of burst length, etc., on the measurement of reverberation time, initial time delay gap, and the ratio of early to late sound can be readily observed using very little equipment not found in a physics department electronics laboratory. Measurement accuracy approaches that of standard techniques, however, accuracy is improved through use of a fast writing oscilloscope, delayed time base, low signal to noise ratio tone burst generator, etc.
