Influence of Picture on Impression of Three-Dimensional Multichannel Sound
A 22.2 multichannel sound system was developed that adapts to an ultrahigh-definition video system with 4000 scanning lines. Subjective evaluation by a semantic differential method is described that assessed the influence of picture on the impression of sound. The three different multichannel sound systems were evaluated with a large screen or a small screen and without pictures. The perception of three-dimensional spatial sound seems to be affected easily by visual sensation than lower dimensional spatial sound.
