Frequency Domain Multiplexing for Simultaneous Impulse Response Measurement of Multichannel Acoustic Systems
Fast impulse response measurement of acoustic systems is a common problem in audio signal processing. The last years have witnessed a major advance in multiple channel sound reproduction systems. Using a simple idea of frequency domain multiplexing a new technic for performing simultaneous multiple channel impulse response measurements is proposed. A previous technique that uses time domain multiplexing is also revised. Several measurements are performed in order to compare the reliability of simultaneous and sequential methods that allow us to show meaningful advantages of the simultaneous technique.
