Flavors Band: An Environment for Processing Musical Scores

Flavors Band is a language for describing scores as a network of phrase processors. A phrase processor is a software module whose input and output are streams of notes called phrases. The output differs from the inputt based on the kind of phrase processor and the values of control arguments, which customize a particular phrase processor to achieve a desired musical result. Realized scores are performed on synthesizers, edited graphically, stored in files, or reprocessed by Flavors Band.
