Abstract:
Putting the at Home Audience in the Game

With the explosion of High Definition sports programming and the consumer’s ability to receive and decode multi-channel digital audio, the Sports Broadcasting industry has evolved a wholly new way of translating the live event into the home and themed entertainment spaces. This 4th edition of the ongoing Live Surround Series of Special Events for the AES 121st. Convention will truly show how audio comes alive. Created and produced by Frederick J. Ampel and Technology Visions exclusively for the AES. The event will take place on October 4th., 2006, from 9AM  until 5PM at the Regency Center’s beautiful Lodge Ballroom located at 1290 Sutter Street, San Francisco. For a gallery of the location go to: www.regencycentersf.com and click on Event Space and then Lodge Level. Seating is limited for the full day program so early registration is encouraged.

Featured on the program will be:
Bob Dixon who mixed the recent Olympics in surround for NBC
Michael Nunan  from CTV and Discovery Channel Canada, The Sports Network (TSN), and MTV Canada
Fred Aldous who mixes both  NASCAR and the NFL on Fox

The event will end with a special Recital by Robert Gurney Organist and Choir Director at Trinity Episcopal Church and also Museum Organist at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor. He will be playing the  1909 Austin pipe organ housed in the Lodge hall where the event is taking place.
