Abstract: Putting the at Home Audience in the Game
With the explosion of High Definition sports programming and the consumer’s ability to receive and decode multi-channel digital audio, the Sports Broadcasting industry has evolved a wholly new way of translating the live event into the home and themed entertainment spaces. This 4th edition of the ongoing Live Surround Series of Special Events for the AES 121st. Convention will truly show how audio comes alive. Created and produced by Frederick J. Ampel and Technology Visions exclusively for the AES. The event will take place on October 4th., 2006, from 9AM until 5PM at the Regency Center’s beautiful Lodge Ballroom located at 1290 Sutter Street, San Francisco. Bob Dixon who mixed the recent Olympics in surround for NBC
Michael Nunan from CTV and Discovery Channel Canada, The Sports Network (TSN), and MTV Canada
Fred Aldous who mixes both NASCAR and the NFL on Fox
Mike Pappas Chief Engineer at KUVO Radio in Denver on HD Radio
The event will end with a special Recital by Robert Gurney Organist and Choir Director at Trinity Episcopal Church and also Museum Organist at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor. He will be playing the 1909 Austin pipe organ housed in the Lodge hall where the event is taking place.
