As more handheld devices embrace the Internet via wireless connectivity, they are constantly evolving to become even more powerful hosts of multimedia contents. Considering the fast-changing environment of personal devices, it is timely for a conference to discuss the trends and future of audio technologies for wireless-enabled handheld devices connected to one other and also to home music systems. This conference will focus on the state-of-the-art developments of audio technologies for wirelessly networked handheld devices. This three-day conference aims to bring audio and system engineers together for the discussion. During the conference, we will discuss issues including wireless audio, new paradigms of coding technologies, immersive 3-D audio, synthetic audio, audio signal processing for future applications, and issues regarding system implementations of personal devices.
