CO-CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME

As the third and final segment of the "AES Goes Gold" 50th Anniversary Celebration, the 105th Convention is dedicated to creating, unveiling, and exploring the audio technology of the next 50 years. Come and experience the technology of the present, glimpse the promise of the future, and connect with the audio professionals who will be making it all happen.

On behalf of the 105th Convention Committee,

David Robinson and Valerie Tyler
Convention Co-Chairman

The ANNUAL AES BUSINESS MEETING will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 9:00AM and is open to all AES members in good standing.

The TECHNICAL COMMITTEES, coordinated by the AES Technical Council, track trends in audio in order to recommend to the Society special papers sessions, standards projects, publications, and awards in their fields. The TC meetings are open to all convention registrants. Check the convention program or the AES Web site for the final schedule.

STANDARDS COMMITTEE meetings, meetings of its subcommittees and working groups, and the meeting of ANSI ASC S4 on Audio Engineering are open to the public. The working group meetings begin two days before the opening of the convention. A list of meetings appears in the 1998 July/August issue of the Journal of the Audio Engineering Society.

Meetings taking place after the opening of the convention are also listed in the final program, but are subject to changes shown on the Web site. All meetings will take place at the Moscone Center unless otherwise noted. Titles and chairs of the subcommittees and working groups as well as their scopes are also listed on the AESSC Web page.

The 105th AUDIO ENGINEERING SOCIETY CONVENTION returns to San Francisco's Moscone Center. Exhibits will occupy the entire North Hall, with Demo Rooms all on one floor. Workshops, papers sessions, and special events facilities are conveniently located on the Esplanade Level of the South Hall.

Over 350 exhibitors are expected to gather under one roof to make this the largest exhibition of professional audio technology and equipment anywhere in the world. A list of participating exhibitors is on the back cover.
