Meeting Topic: Getting started in the new semester
Moderator Name: Allison Bruenig (President)
Other business or activities at the meeting: Planned upcoming events and interfacing with the new St. Louis AES professional capter
Meeting Location: Webster University, Webster Groves, MO
The Webster University Student Section got off to a strong start this semester, with discussions of a visit by Benj Kanters with his Hearing Conservation Workshop, and plans for working together with the newly reformed St. Louis Regional AES Chapter. The students are looking forward to forging strong ties with the professional community through their alliance.
The students are also very excited about Geoff Emerick's upcoming visit on October 29th, and much of the meeting was dedicated to planning the successful promotion and execution of this event. The students are hoping that many students and professionals from the region will join us for this event.
While it seems a long way off, students were also discussing the Third Annual Central Region Student Summit, slated for the first weekend in April, 2009. The students are cognizant that events of this scope require a great deal of advance planning, and the work of contacting sponsors, presenters, educators, professionals and students from the Central Region is about to begin.
