This year PSU AES has been running a series of Music Meetings, where members meet in an informal and social environment to enjoy music and discuss audio topics. The intention of the Music Meetings is to supplement the conventional lecture-based meetings and foster more member participation, discussion, activity, and feedback.
The series has been somewhat experimental due to its non-traditional nature, but has been generally successful. During the Fall semester, meetings were held in a room on campus, but were later held in Chair Todd Marco's downtown apartment in order to showcase the section's new McIntosh MA6900. Seating was limited due to this arrangement, and next semester's Music Meetings (still featuring the MA6900) are scheduled to be held on campus again, in the usual meeting room. Hopefully this will allow for greater attendance and further success of the Music Meeting series.
