2.Sound and recording extravaganza!!! This will be a super Two day event! An orchestrated mic pre, microphone, guitar/amp, keyboard (digital verses the real old thing)"shoot-out". This will lead in to mic placement, recording tecniques and culminating into a finished recording that we can all be proud of! (Or at least have fun attempting to...)

Members brought a plethoria microphones to our third microphone shootout. This event started as a vacuum tube swap out. Different types and construction were changed and their sonic differences were recorded and discussed. The preamp used was prototype Warmenfat. Tube types used 5687(tungsol "D" getters and Sylvania 5687wa), 7119 and 6900. Vintage tube guitar amps were employed, the 1958 fender tweed deluxe sounded wonderful...Many members appreciated the fact that the "re-issue "products do not match the original!
Our new section appears to be evolving in hands on,try things out and INVOLVED group! Our membership continues to grow and we welcome all to our meetings.
Our section has now recorded accoustic guitar/voice, drums and now electric guitar...stay tuned for a cd of our tests!
