The November 1st meeting of the St. Louis Section was held at CJ Muggs restaurant in Webster Groves, Missouri. Section Chairman Bill Schulenburg addressed the numerous attendees regarding section activities, January 2011 officer elections, and creation of Web Site Committee and Media Relations Committee.

Joe Blasingame (Vice Chair) reported on the media coverage of the AES St. Louis "Secret Weapons" Microphone Shootout in the November 2010 issues of Mix magazine (page 16). The AES St. Louis Section website (www.aesstl.org) has all the details.
Paul Hennerich (Treasurer) reported on the Section's positive cash position as well as the launch of the AES St. Louis Section website (www.aesstl.org). This led Bill Schulenburg to call for creation of a Website committee responsible for the maintenance and growth of the site, as well as a Media Relations committee to further promote the section in accordance to the Section mission statement.

The St. Louis area AES professional and student sections planned to have significant representation at the 129th National AES Convention in San Francisco, CA. Section officers Bill Schulenburg (Chairman), Paul Hennerich (Treasurer), and Gary Gottlieb (Liaison Officer) will be joined a large group of members. Gary Gottlieb will also lead a panel including Al Schmitt, Ed Cherney, Eliot Scheiner, and Mark Rubel in a program titled "How Does It Sound Now? - The Evolution of Audio".
Eighteen Webster University AES Student Section members will participate in the convention's Education Fair promoting the Audio Production degree program at Webster University in Webster Groves, MO.
Also at the November meeting, Greg Ondo delivered an hour-long presentation of the new Steinberg WaveLab 7 capabilities as a comprehensive suite for professional mastering, audio editing and restoration that is available for Mac and PC. The attendees many questions were answered by the demonstration.
AES St. Louis (Missouri) Regional Section's membership has grown significantly, with close ties to the local music industry through artist and event promotion, premium commercial recording studios, and a strong working relationship with the Webster University Student Section.
