Summary
On PSU's Homecoming eve, 26 stout hearted AES'ers spent more then five hours in Dr.Swanson's man cave critically listening to stereo and surround mixes on his home theater system. The sound system is part of an extension added to his house in the last 8 years. We looked at photos documenting the design of the space as well as listening. As the room was planned to be listening room, the speaker cabinets are built into the walls, and the four sub-woofers are placed to control room mode resonances. Although not perfect, it is a truly amazing sound system, and the acoustic considerations yield a spectacular result.
